Filler Powders

Aluminium Metal powder can be dusted into moulds and added to a variety of resins to create casts that, once buffed, have a metal-like finish.

Aluminum Tri-hydrate as its more commonly known is an inexpensive filler powder that can be added to polyester gelcoats & resins for bulking out. It also has a secondary use that if added to polyurethane it will provide a fire-retardancy.

These fillers are more commonly used in resins for producing cold cast metal effects. Generally, higher amounts of metal powder are used to give a true metallic effect. Can be buffed, polished and a patina applied if required.

A thixotropic agent which prevents sagging or dropping of resin when applied on vertical surfaces. Also ideal to use as a thickener with Pros-aide to create transfers.

Talc is an all-purpose inexpensive filler powder which can be mixed with polyester resin to produce a material similar to body filler. This will produce a more hardy surface than standard body fillers but will be more difficult to sand.
